Dall'arte alla natura
Past exhibition
Overview
In 1960 Fontana held an exhibition titled "From nature to art" at Palazzo Grassi, owned at that time by the collector Paolo Marinotti. On this occasion he exhibits for the first time sculptures entitled "Nature", large irregular circular shapes, similar to asteroids lava blocks, paths by characteristic cuts or large cracks. Taking inspiration from this pioneering exhibition, ML Fine Art want to return to a theme, that of the relationship between art and nature, which becomes central in the artistic debate starting from the sixties. With a significant reversal of perspective, ML Fine Art chose to title the exhibition "Dall'arte alla natura", just to highlight how the artists of the generation following Fontana, or the protagonists of Arte Povera, choose nature not as a source of inspiration, but rather as a constitutive element for their artistic language.
