Early provenance entries are pending further research. A document from 1934 notes that Falk sold a collage to Cassirer Gallery (no date of the transaction mentioned). And, a different reference mentions that Marcus Oliver acquired a collage from Darius Talyarken in 1939.
The Foundation records just ten known collages by Archipenko from 1912-1913. Two are with the Archipenko Foundation, including the present work, four are in museums (Museum of Modern Art, New York (ID786); Fundacion Mapfre, Madrid (ID736); Moderna Museet, Stockholm (ID802); and Philadelphia Museum of Art (ID792) and three in private collections.
